In my last post I wrote about peace and quoted a verse where Jesus states that we can have peace “in him.” This may seem like an abstract concept, but it is one of those truths that when it hits you becomes a true treasure to hold onto.
The key here is that Jesus is the source if peace. He doesn’t “… give as the world gives” (John 14:27), but the peace he brings stems from his great love for us. And, an understanding of that love brings about an all-encompassing comfort and level of safeness.
This is one of those things that might have to come by revelation, as I’ve seen pastors and speakers struggling for words to try and describe the gift that comes from being “in Christ.” But what if I really believed that Jesus is always with me, that every situation is safe, that my boss doesn’t determine my future and God’s plans always prevail. What level of peace would just believing these things mean? Thankfully Christ is faithful to help us believe if we seek him.
Through time with him in prayer and reading the Word an intimacy can be reached with the living source of all things. I hope you would be encouraged to spend some time with him today and be truly blessed by it.
